Baby Surrender - In Loving Arms: (XXIII)
A project related to the California Newborn Abandonment Law that allows women to surrender a newborn within three days to a hospital without legal consequences. The project was done in conjunction with Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare system and included stickers placed in agricultural areas, especially portable toilet facilities. This project received local and state recognition.

Updated City Ordinances for Parks and Recreation department of City of Salinas presented for action to City Council.

Coalition for Women in Politics: (XXIII)
A project to encourage women to run for political office. This project included a panel of local women community leaders who gave advice and leadership information about political challenges in our community.

Organized and conducted an official for community leaders and founders of Leadership Salinas.

Leaders for Lunch (XXIII)
This was a project where brown bag lunches were sold and delivered to local businesses as a fund-raiser to assist other projects. Any additional monies not used by class projects was donated to the Chamber Foundation to assist with scholarship monies for future participants in need of financial assistance.

Leadership Salinas Foundation
Established Foundation for Chamber of Commerce to educate community leaders.

Developed Community Leadership Action project library at Chamber of Commerce.

Mammogram for Natividad
Fundraiser Bowl-A-Thon benefiting Natividad Medical Center purchasing Mammogram machine benefiting county women.

Designed to provide information to community on value of Leadership Salinas Valley program.

Monterey County Produce
Vision: Point of purchase of Monterey County produce--the highest quality produce--nationwide concept development.

Mount Toro Career Day: (XX, XXI, XXII, XXIV)
Vision: Provide students at Mount Toro High School an opportunity to meet and interact with a number of business organizations, including public sector allowing students to see possibilities of future career opportunities.

Newborn Kits for Natividad
Project designed to provide books and other small items to parents of newborns at Natividad Hospital to promote early literacy.

North Monterey County Readers: (XXIII)
This project was an extension of an idea from Class XXI to promote literacy amongst elementary school students. The first project was done at Roosevelt Elementary in Salinas and this project was done at an elementary school in North Monterey County. The group read to the students and was extremely well received by both students and faculty.

One Belt for the Road
Campaign increasing public awareness to wear seat belts to reduce injuries and prevent deaths.

Outreach Second Chance: (XXIII)
This was a multi-media project for Second Chance Family and Youth Services to provide marketing tools to broaden community awareness about the services and resources for gang intervention and prevention.

Packages of Care: (XXII)
Backpacks assembled for Child Protective Services, Kinship Center and Mentor Moms. Backpacks contained toiletries, food coupons, clothes, school materials, etc.

Professional Leadership Image
Brought together community leaders and business community for assistance in marketing themselves through image.

Project Warehouse: (XXIV)
Create a listing of all LeadershipSalinas Valley projects.

Reduce Teen Pregnancy in Monterey County
"Baby think it over Program" for Salinas Public High Schools. Raise money to provide mechanical babies in health programs to educate high school students about the responsibilities of parenting.

Roosevelt Readers: (XXI)
Group collaboration to bring books to local elementary school.  Enough books donated that each student could leave with their own book. In addition volunteers from the community volunteered time to read to small groups of students during the day.

Salinas Animal Shelter
Assist City of Salinas to improve animal shelter.

SalinasValleyKids.com: (XXII)
Website for parents to find activities/sports, etc. for children and adolescents in the Salinas Valley.

Steinbeck Center
Developing grant applications for construction of Steinbeck Center.

Survey/Resource Directory
Leadership Salinas locating community leaders and contributions made to community.

Tennis for Kids: (XXI)
Vision: Provide opportunity for Salinas Valley youth to new experience. Done in conjunction with P.A.L. program.

Together We Can
Mobilized and empowered community to effect change in conditions that lead to alcohol, drug and gang activity among youth.

Toro Environmental Science Center
Established "Become a Legend in your own Tile" fundraising program.

Treats for Troops: (XXIII)
This was a project to provide military encouragement care packages. The coordinators collected donations which were assembled and sent to local soldiers currently serving in the armed forces particularly the Middle East. The packages included a letter of gratitude written by another class members' elementary school students thanking the military for their service. The project team assembled and mailed over 50 packages.

Youth Chess Tournament: (XX)
Provide opportunity to Salinas Valley elementary school students to have a day where they could play chess in a positive atmosphere, geared to students and families.

We Care Bears
Fundraiser project for Police Department, benefiting traumatized children and other citizens.
